On Christmas when I was four years old, my parents surprised me with an astonishing present bearing a lifelong impact! Briskly and unknowingly, I was initiated into Dog Diva-dom by my first, Shamrock, a Kerry Blue Terrier.

(click photo to enlarge) My good luck charm arrived in time to rescue me from the ills of humanity and sweep me away into DOG MIND: a fishing, biking, loving, begging by whimpering, chasing, full blown larger than life BEST FRIEND.
I really believe this book took birth then and there - in Orchard Lake with her swimming beside me. Shammy and an Instamatic for my 9th birthday threw a spark into my soul for the love affairs to come: canines and cameras. |
